Center for Experimental Art and Architecture presents an exhibition of paintings, drawings and architectural models
of Vasken Brudian. Exhibition Opening is on Friday, June 19, from 7-10 PM.

With broad brush strokes, delicate architectural lines, acrylic paint, photography, poetry and omnipresent
technology, Brudian blends disparate and diverse visual elements to create his canvases. Rigid orthogonal lines and
unruly gestures of abstraction subsist in an intricately quilted, combative, dizzying architectural riddles. The
exhibition showcases Brudian's latest paintings and architectural models, along with a few selected pieces from past
exhibits.

Brudian, himself with a hyphenated career of an artist and architect, is immersed in both disciplines and interested
in the point of intersection and convergence of the two. The pieces, ranging in size from intimate to large, are
attempts to articulate ways in which one discipline can inform and impact the other and in that interaction expand
our visual vocabulary.

“I am very interested in exploring the role of technology in my work” says Brudian. “For me, technology is not only
the tool and the means but also stands as a metaphor for the increasingly interconnected, delicate yet gradually
more complex character of our times.”

"Of Art and Architecture: A Contemporary Discourse" is a reflection and a showcase of Brudian’s current work and
points the way to his future development.
